“Sometimes it’s important to work for that pot of gold. But other times it’s essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow.” – Douglas Pagels
The Holy Work continues, though my little space on the wild web of the internet has been quiet for months.
After the bittersweet close of our first “The Holy Work of a Doula” e-course session in early June, I cocooned around my family and friends and spent the summer soaking them up.
I also had the honor of serving two incredible Priestesses of Birth in very different and exquisite birth journeys. In spite of (fill in the blank)…babies continue to non-apologetically decide how they are going to be born and I throw my head back in gentle laughter and tears of awe.
Much as been steeping in my heart around birth. Many lessons continue to unfold in front of me, sometimes as blood-red as sparkling rubies; other times as deep and mysterious as onyx.
I am in the process of Un-Knowing. Unraveling. Un-Asking. It is painful, yet deft, and sometimes tastes like the first rain of the summer.
This is my work.
Stay tuned, if you will. Reintegration may be mellow, but I am emerging again.
Another doula e-course learning session is in the works for the fall time frame and details will be shared as they are finalized.
I hope you will join me as the light begins to wane a tad bit more each day; one sliver less sun. More moon to swim beneath, my friends.
